Dr. Milou offers professional development to K-12 schools.  Sample presentations include:

Summer 2020 virtual offerings include.  

  • Desmos (Grades 6-12): July 7, 8, 9:  9am to Noon daily. This 3-day (9 hour) workshop will engage teachers in the free online graphing calculator desmos.  We will explore all of its features from animating objects and functions, to creating lessons and building assessments.  We will develop a full set of lessons for the 2020-21 school year for most grades including 6, 7, 8, Algebra I and Algebra II.

  • Rethinking the Secondary School Curriculum (Grades 6-12): July 14, 15 and 16: 9am to Noon daily This 3-day (9 hour) workshop will support teachers in taking realistic steps in revising math curriculum to include 3-act math modeling lesson, authentic problem solving, open middle problems and innovative curriculum alternatives.



  • Technology resources (Grades K-12): July 28, 29 and 30: 9am to Noon daily This 3-day (9 hour) workshop will help teachers prepare for a possible return to remote instruction in the fall. Participants will explore a variety of digital tools (Desmos, PearDeck and Gimkit amongst others) and understand the pros/cons of each tool.
